I am an independent artist, researcher and curator, originally from Medellín, Colombia. Since 2005, I have been living and working between South America and Europe; at the moment I am based in the city of Brussels. I am graduated from the Postgraduate Program in Curatorial Studies at KASK – Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent, BE.

I have completed a Master after Master of Research in Arts and Design, Sint Lucas Antwerp (2011) as well as Postgraduate Studies in Transmedia, Sint Lukas Brussels (2008). I graduated as an architect and obtained a Master of Science in Urban Landscaping from KU Leuven in 2006.

With regard to my curatorial practice, I am interested in working collaboratively with artists and cultural institutions that approach, reflect on and question the canonical systems of knowledge production. In the last decade, I have participated in the following curatorial projects: Perpetual Travellers at SAVYY Contemporary, Berlin (Germany), in co-curation with Belgian curator Pieter Vermeulen; FOLD at CIAP, Hasselt (Belgium), in co-curation with Belgian curator Pauline Doutreluingne; MEDIATION at Platform3, Munich (Germany), in co-curation with Austrian curator Marlene Rigler. In 2021, I will produce a curatorial research project at SixtyEight Art Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 2008, I have worked as an independent artist. My artistic practice, which focuses on in-site specific-installation and performance, has been presented internationally at
U-jazdowski Castle Contemporary Art Center, Warsaw(2018), Geumcheon,Seoul ArtSpace, Seoul (2014), Hangar Barcelona (2014), URRA Residencias de Arte, Buenos Aires (2013), amongst others.

My artistic production has been represented by art galleries in Spain, Colombia, Argentina and Belgium and I have exhibited several times at international art fairs, including ARCO Madrid, Artbo Bogota, and POPPOSITIONS in Brussels.

Research has been an integral part of my practice, where I have applied a critical perspective that looks at the social impacts of artistic practices and its discursive, economic, historical and spatial underpinnings. Research highlights of my recent experience include the peer-to-peer knowledge production environment in Brussels with a focus on performance (a.pass), where I was a researcher from 2016-2018, and the summer school Art and Practice in the Otherwise at BAK (Basis for Art and Knowledge – Utrecht, The Netherlands), where I participated as a scholar in 2018.
My research interests include decolonial practices, queer phenomenology, process philosophy, trans-individuality, interlinkages between these fields and the spatial and phenomenological discourse they produce. I will start a PhD in critical practices at the Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities (CAMC), Coventry University, UK in 2021. I have taught various workshops on site-specific installation and performance in Colombia, at Museo Banco de La Republica, Casa Tres Patios and Medellin’s Modern Art Museum (MAMM). In 2013, I was invited as guest lecturer at Luca-Arts School of Architecture in Brussels, in relation to my practice as an artist. Earlier in my career, between 1998-2001, I worked as Assistant Lecturer at Bachelor and Master levels at two Architecture and Urban Design faculties, at National University of Colombia and at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), where I was also an academic coordinator.
