Poppositions – La Vallée – Brussels BE

In the current geopolitical context where migratory flows have become a pivotal issue in the way societies evolve and relate one another, the daily gestures of the individual reverberate as political forms.

For Poppositions 2016, JosédelaFuente presents two different installations by artists Juan Duque and Ion Macareno, which together speak in unison about the socio-political value of gesture and the potential of movement as a strategy to position the individual as a catalyst for change. Beyond the boundaries of the domestic, both practices take common places as a point of departure in order to explore new ways of nomadic resistance.
